Electro-optics Lab Assistant/Programmer Intern

(full-time, 6-12 months)
Work closely with the device development team to develop high-performance quantum dot-based thin film devices using proprietary materials and manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Director of Device Development, the position includes running various LED experiments, programming (LabVIEW, MATLAB and firmware) and developing laboratory and prototype electronics.

 Responsibilities

• Implement experiments to study and better understand the physics of quantum dot light emitting devices
• Design and interface software to various lab equipment
• Design and maintain device and material databases
• Write scripts to generate experimental reports
• Design and breadboard electronics and firmware for experiments and technology demonstrators.

 Experience

• 1-2 years of hands-on optics bench and/or analog electronics experience
• 1-2 years of experience developing LabVIEW and MATLAB applications
• 1-2 years programming/scripting experience with Python, Perl and/or Visual Basic is preferred
• Database design and implementation experience
• Excellent lab and debug skills
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills
• Organic light emitting diode (OLED) and/or display electronics experience is preferred

 Education

Senior or graduate-level electrical engineering or physics student with electro-optics or semiconductor experience.
