Work with a cross-functional device development team to develop high-performance quantum dot-based thin film devices using proprietary materials and manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Director of Device Development, the senior device process engineer will lead process development efforts for quantum dot light-emitting devices.
Responsibilities
• Optimize the integration of new quantum dot materials and deposition processes into baseline devices
• Design and implement experiments to study, understand and improve process windows and device performance
• Develop novel device fabrication processes for quantum dot light emitting devices
• Lead development of standard operating procedures
• Lead yield improvement and device fabrication scale-up activities
• Work in a cross-disciplinary environment to integrate material-process relationships
• Work with external development partners to optimize device performance
• Manage technician work flow and clean room operations
• Manage device fabrication schedule and workload for maximum equipment utilization
• Manage maintenance activities, consumables inventory and new equipment procurement
Experience
• 5+ years of industrial R&D experience fabricating organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) or related electronic devices that comprise amorphous thin films and/or soft materials
• Hands-on experience developing thin film deposition processes (evaporation, sputtering) and micro-patterning techniques (soft lithography, photolithography, wet and dry etch) in clean room and glove box environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team (2-4) of engineers and technicians
• Experience depositing and characterizing metal oxide films (e.g., ITO)
• Familiarity with optical thin film materials, deposition and characterization
• Proficient with design of experiments and process optimization techniques
• Experience with OLED, LCD and/or other flat panel display processing equipment is preferred
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
Education
